Association of Motoring Clubs Victoria

The Association of Motoring Clubs Inc. (AOMC) is a not for profit organisation established in 1976 and now comprises over 200 member clubs and represents some 45,000 vehicle enthusiasts in Victoria with vehicles from the Veteran era through to current models.

Currently the AOMC is involved in:

  • reviewing the Victoria EPA’s reports on clean air and making submissions and recommendations regarding those reports
  • responding to reports of abuse of the Club Permit Scheme; the hard won rights of vehicle enthusiasts must not be jeopardised
  • storing Victoria’s historic engine number records that can enable owners to authenticate vehicles that are no longer registered with VicRoads. Victoria is now the only State that has such records. More details can be found on the AOMC web pages. Searches can be requested by writing to the AOMC.
  • acting on decisions taken at meetings of the Australian Historic Motoring Federation.
  • putting Submissions to State and Federal Government on Legislative Reviews. A recent submission to the Industry Commission Inquiry into the Automotive Industry and Tariffs proposed zero sales tax on engine tuning components as an alternative to tariff reductions.
