Australia Day 2019

Bright and early Peggy and Clive were at it again organising the meals and ensuring that the days activities proceeded along smoothly.  The flavour of the day was our traditional Aussie bbq of snags, bacon, eggs, hash browns served with lavish amounts of salad, sauce all washed down with tea and coffee.

Many members turned up in their historic vehicle, while others arrived using the more modern approach of vehicles fitted with air conditioning. It didn’t matter we all filled our tummies, chatted and a hand full of members proceeded with their vehicles to the Annual vehicle display at Lake Weeroona.

Aussie flags were seen flying in the Bendigo sun, our member Richard Mills had 2 flags proudly attached to the front of his Ford for all to see.

Now a lot of planning goes into hosting this event for our members. It takes a week of odd preparation to organise the food plus all the paper work for Rotary and the Council.

Thanks to Neil Athorn for arranging all the paperwork, thanks to Peg and Clive for hosting the bbq, and finally thanks to all members who chipped in and gave a hand for setup and clean up.

All members don’t forget to come along to Club functions we love to see you in your modern or historic vehicle it makes no difference.
